Dale Christopherson

I have stayed at Dorothy’s Haven of Hope on a few different occasions in time of need in life and have found it to have helped me succeed in life and get on a path of where I am today. I was released from a rather long period of incarceration from the age of 16 to 21 and I had literally nothing and no help of any kind and I was taken in and given a chance when no one would even help me. I didn’t realize at the time, but it would kick start my new future and help me start a new life and break a cycle of incareration and nothingness. Now I know not everyone goes through this or is in the same boat as I was, but this is what I experienced. It also opened my eyes to see that almost everyone is one step away from becoming homeless or struggling to get back up and nothing is guaranteed. I was helped and guided with employement and other needs such as getting insurance and food share for the time until I could get on my feet and stay there. The resources that were available to me were very helpful and very much needed. Dorothy’s Haven of Hope makes a great positive impact in a small area, and I am grateful for it and hope it stays around forever as long as people are in need of help.
